Clear before you start

A few good questions.

Store visibility, payments and shipping have different readiness steps.

Can I start without a logo?

Yes. Give your shop a name and choose a presentation style. Add a logo when you are ready.

When can I accept payments?

After your own online payment service account is verified, your seller details and required verification are complete. Check the provider’s verification requirements and fee schedule for your business.

Can I use my own website address?

Your website address is the link people type or tap to visit you—for example, yourshop.in. You can use your MakeMyWeb shop link or connect an address you already own. Confirm ownership and check registration or renewal costs before connecting it.

Do I need Cashfree?

Choose a online payment service such as Cashfree or Razorpay that fits your business. You would use your own verified account. Choose the provider that fits your business and review its account requirements.

Can customers pay when their parcel arrives?

Cash on delivery means your customer pays when their parcel arrives. Check that your delivery service supports it and confirm when it sends the collected money to you. Make the collection instructions clear before confirming the order.

Who handles shipping?

You choose and pay your own delivery provider. Courier serviceability, rates and perishables restrictions must be confirmed through authorised integrations.

Can I sell food?

Show the pack size, ingredients, preparation notice and collection choices clearly. Before accepting orders, confirm the food requirements and licences that apply to your business and to the platform.

Can I sell affiliate products?

You can add shop-owner-written recommendations with approved direct retailer links. Customers checkout on the retailer’s site; recommendations never enter an order in your shop.

How do your fees work?

The plans include platform fees on paid product sales that count towards the fee. Provider fees, shipping and taxes are separate. Compare the plan and provider charges using your own order volume.

Can I leave and export?

My Shop lets you download your shop, product and order records. The file belongs to your account and can be kept as a copy of your business information.

The questions behind “Can I start?”

You can explore a shop now while keeping the requirements for real selling separate and visible.

A conversation about fabric at an Indian boutique

“I only know WhatsApp. Will I understand this?”

The product asks for things you already know: your shop name, a product photo, a price and relevant customer choices. There are simple examples and plain-language guides. Start with one product and follow the prompts at your own pace.

“Do I need ten products before I begin?”

No. One well-described product is a good start for your shop. Start with the item you can describe accurately, then add the next when you are ready.

“Do I have to decide the final design now?”

Choose a starting style, save your shop and change the family later in My Shop. Upload a logo when you have one. Product choices and existing order records do not depend on a permanent design decision.

“What should I check before sharing my shop?”

Check product facts, prices, preparation times and customer choices. Keep your seller information and relevant business requirements current.
